When buying a new Apple Watch band, it's important to choose the right size. Not only should the band fit the watch, but it should also fit your wrist well. Here, we'll walk you through how to find the right size – both for your Apple Watch and for the band.
1. Find the size of your Apple Watch
The first step is to check the size of your Apple Watch. This size determines the type of strap you need to choose.
-
Turn the clock: The size is engraved on the back of the watch, for example 40mm , 41mm , 44mm , 45mm or 49mm .
-
Settings on iPhone: Open Apple Watch app > General > About and find the model number and size.

Remember: 38/40/41mm bands fit all of these sizes, while 42/44/45mm bands fit each other. The 49mm Apple Watch Ultra has its own bands, but many 45mm bands can also be used.
2. Choose the right style and material
Once you've found the right size, it's all about style and comfort:
-
Silicone/rubber: Perfect for training and everyday use.
-
Leather: Gives a classic and elegant look.
-
Steel mesh/chain: Stylish and exclusive, perfect for work and parties.
-
NATO and nylon straps: Comfortable, breathable and sporty.
